How to paint outdoor tiles?

Hi there,

I would like to paint my outdoor patio tiles. We renovated the house but didn't do anything with the tiles. They are rough and have no glazing. I think the grout is loose/not in good quality - sometimes sand comes up between the tiles, with black ants sometimes. Sometimes also weeds. Could you please tell us the best options to paint the tiles and the steps needed? Thank you.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Dami. It's marvellous to have you join us and many thanks for your question about painting pavers.

You can paint your pavers with White Knight Ultra Pave. That's not going to solve any sand, weeds, or ants between the pavers. Typically pavers are laid on a bed of sand and are not grouted together. Before painting the area, you might like to use some Powerloc paving sand between the pavers. This material is better at binding and setting between the pavers than standard sand. It will also help prevent weeds and ants.
