We bought our new home at the end of 2021, and wanted to create a dining area that really had some wow factor , yet also practical for our 4 growing children, a space where they can sit and relax, play a board game etc or chill with friends after school.... did I mention for 4 growing children?? With that In mind it needed to be durable and have room for a small village and still be comfy!
We started by sketching out what we wanted and after a final design, we set of to our local bunnings for all our materials. We covered the walls with shiplap panelling .. deciding on fixing it horizontally (better coverage with less cutting and joining) and covering it with deluxe vivid white.

The main seating is a corner booth and was hand made with a timber base and melamine panels with a 90mm skirting to cap the top off, we had some left over floorboards too so we decided to utilise them as the feature part on the base of the seating. Fitted a power point for practicality and changed the light switches to a satin black finish for a bit of pop to go with the door which we painted in deluxe raku. Also very good for avoiding grubby fingers leaving smudges on all the switches and doors!

For now we have a expandable table that is a good space saver, will be deciding on a different one for the future after we have replacing the out dated tiling.
Hope you like the project!
Stay tuned !
The last picture is before the project started... check out the difference!
