How to fix scuffed timber floors?

Just had a new fridge freezer delivered, and as I was shimmying it across the kitchen floor to put in to place, the cardboard I popped underneath to protect the floor, backfired somewhat. Anyone know how to get rid of both the scuff marks, and also the look of the snail trail, please? We only purchased and moved in 2 weeks ago, so any other marks you spot, I can't take the credit for 🙂This shows more of the scuffThe 'snail trail' effect

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's a pleasure to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about how to repair your scuffed timber floor.

Generally, there are two common methods to fix this type of damage. First, you can sand the damage down, however, before you attempt to do this it's vital that you have the original sealer that was used on your floor. The second method is to use a timber filler that is the same colour as your floor. Again it's important that you have the same sealer so that it will not stand out. Unfortunately, the damage is too deep, my only other recommendation is to use Timbermate Waxstix to disguise the badly damaged areas.

It appears as if you've effectively scraped the coating of the floor. I'd try some Dunlop 500ml Revive and Shine in a small test section. It's designed to restore worn floors and reduces the appearance of scuffing. What you've got here is really bad scuffing. I can't imagine this product will hide the damage completely, but it might disguise it to a certain degree. Try a test section first, as it might send the scuffed marks darker than the surrounding timber.
