How do i know if I'm ready to paint or need to sand?

How am I certain I’ve sanded trims of windows and doors enough to ensure that my paint and primer will stick and not peel? 

am I able to paint primer straight over the dark grey colour already present if it’s not peeling and will it be enough to coat and cover by one lawyer of primer before painting?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about sanding.

If you are after a flat-sanded finish, I propose having a look at the Ozito 200W Detail Sander. It's great for getting into hard-to-reach corners. The best part is that it comes with a set of graduated sanding pads that lets you get to a fine finish on your project. In regards to the door, I suggest further sanding. The floor trim looks good and if you continue your efforts on the window trim it should be ready for priming as well. Please make sure to wipe and remove all the sanding dust before you begin priming the surface.
