It's fantastic Jonb. What do you store in it?
Jason
This one is destined to be a toy chest, but it has been built to last. So I imagine it benig used for all sorts in the years to come.
I'm sure the kids will love it @Jonb. Great work.

OMG , This isAmazing, I love it!!.
@Jonb
I think Captian Jack Sparrow would have you making all his treasure chest, nice work, how long did it take you to build? also do you have any plans for it you can share? I got a lot of grandkids who would love one. Regards Steve.
Hi Steve,
This would have been no 14 that I have made, did not start with a plan, just fuddled my way through learning from my mistakes.
I now make 3 or 4 at a time , and this takes me 2 days to complete.
attaching a few pics, sorry I have no plans.
Thank you for your reply, great work.
Can strongly I urge anyone who makes these wonderful chests to install a hydraulic hinge, or other sfety device - my handyman - an ex copper - had the tradgedy of attending an incident where the lid had fallen on the child's neck, and the child was killed.
That's horrifying @SBROWN. Many thanks for joining in the discussion and providing such an important message.

I Love the blackened look. Is it a stain?
