My timber floor are worn in high traffic areas, is there something (easy-ish) I can do to repair without sanding whole floor ? Also would anyone be able to identify what timber this is. We have old terrace house Sydney. Many thanks
Hi @HM2566,
It appears the damage to your floors is past the point of any type of touchup restoration and they really need to be sanded back to restore their finish. Not only has the clear coat been worn off, but the timber beneath has become grey and aged. New fresh timber must be exposed through sanding before applying your new clear coat.
There's a good possibility that your floor is Cypress Pine.
We hire floor sanders which will make quick work of the job compared to hand sanding. Here's a helpful step-by-step guide: How to sand timber floors.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
