How to match a padlock to a D latch diameter?

Hi, trying a get a pad lock for the D latch. Does anyone know what is the diameter of the padlock hole?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @derek17. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about selecting a padlock.

The hole in that gate latch is around 8mm, so you should be fine with a padlock such as the Syneco 40mm Solid Brass Padlock. If you were after a larger lock, a helpful team member in-store will be able to check the maximum size suitable for that latch.
