Hi everyone,
Please help me give a fresh look to this sad-looking backyard. We'd love to convert this ugly, patchy, sandy space into a nice green lawn. We moved in last year and noticed the garden hadn't been cared for in ages.
The issues we currently have are:
-pretty uneven surface
- weeds (or bad-looking grass?) in many spots which tend to get everywhere in winter. Because it hasn't rained in for a while and because we didn't see the point in watering it, there's not much of this weed in the backyard at the moment. But as you can see from the pic attached, this is the kind of nasty grass that gets everywhere in the first rain.
- reticulation is installed but is currently leaking, so we switched it off entirely. Would we have to remove the retic pipes in order to get the surface flat with a compressor or something else?
So my question is: what would be the best way to permanently remove the current weeds so they don't pop out on top of the new lawn, make everything flat, and then prep the base for the new turf (either planting seeds or laying new grass)?
Considering this, would you also suggest going ahead with a DIY or calling a pro? I worked in landscaping for a while but I'm far from being an expert.
Thank you in advance for your help!
