Trying to get this spout to spot leaking, have unscrewed the end and cleaned out and replaced but still no better.
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Emerald. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about fixing a leaking tap.If water runs out of your spout when the taps are turned off, it indicates that either the hot or cold tap valve has failed and needs replacing. The valve stops the water flow. Here's a helpful step-by-step guide on how to replace a tap washer.
The part you've disassembled there is the aerator. You'd only need to clean that out if the water flow was blocked or there was a reduction in flow. Please let me know if you have any questions.Mitchell
Thank you for this, so to clarify a washer is the same as a valve in this instance?
Yes, it is @Emerald. The actual item that needs to be replaced is the tap valve. For the purposes of the article we've called it a 'washer' as that's what most people know them as.
