How to hang flying portico to 1905 brick house?

We have made a fyling portico for over the front door. We are located in Manitoba Canada. Our house was built in 1905 and is wood frame with brick on the outside. Lime mortar. The portico is 120 pounds will stick out 16 inches and 60 inches long . We were going to do a wood support against the house the an angle from the front to that support. What is the best way to attach this considering the somewhat fragile state of the brick. Here is a picture of the location, there is a mark from the previous portico.

Woooo long way away 🙂 And yeah as @Jason says it would be a good idea to check out your local regulations.

As a bypass of knowing what your regulations are, you could build a freestanding awning over the area, that way you are not touching the wall and dont need to worry about how it would hold up.

Hi @MoJo11 welcome down under!

As @Jason has already recommended in seeking the advice locally, but straight off from what I can see, the brickwork needs to be supported by a load bearing metal plate that follows the arch and secured within the existing brickwork on both sides. We call these lintels and would have been installed first and then the brisk arch layer over. I would be contacting a bricklayer to assist in cutting one in. The metal will need to be custom made to suit.
