Need ideas for backyard renovation

Hi everyone, I am planning to do my backyard, which is bit plain at the moment . I want to add bit more greenery ( flower and veggie patch) and if possible build a seating area with firepit. This is my first time doing project as such, I would really appreciate some recommendations. I did start doing it by creating the little pathway.

It sounds like an exciting project you’re starting! Adding greenery with a flower and veggie patch, plus creating a seating area with a firepit, will really transform your backyard into a great space. Since you’ve already begun by creating a little pathway, you’re off to a fantastic start.

Before diving in further, I’d suggest starting with a simple sketch of your backyard. Even a rough drawing will help you visualise where you want everything to go. Think about the placement of your flower beds, veggie patch, and seating area in relation to the sun’s path. Veggie patches, for example, will need a sunny spot, while seating areas might benefit from some shade or a good view of your garden.

When planning, consider things like the scale of each feature and how you’ll move through the space. You’ve already started with a pathway, which is a great way to lead people through your garden, but think about how wide it should be and whether you want to expand it or add more pathways to connect different areas.

Once you’ve got a plan in place, you can begin building out the different elements step by step. Start with the veggie patch or flower beds and work your way toward creating the seating area and firepit. That way, you'll have a clear vision of what you're aiming for, and it will make the project feel less overwhelming.
