How to hang heavy boxing bag on brick wall?

Hello,

I'm wanting to mount a heavy boxing back to a brick wall out the back.

Details:

The bag and bracket combo weight roughly 60 -70kg

House is double brick.

I intend to use 80x75m masonry screws chemically anchored in with dewalt gp50.

Just wanting a second opinion, any advice would be great. Thanks.

Well you got the gear to do the wall mounting. 🙂

Thats a heavy bag and I am sure you arnt going to attack it with a feather duster so.

I give the wall mounts two weeks before they loosen off I might be surprised here.

Just in case Plan B open your roof tiles screw in a big lump of timber fitting snug between your roof rafters both sides sitting flat on the villaboard out near the guttering.

The idea is to put in a big eye bolt through the villaboard through the middle of the timber and your bag can be suspended by chain.

Boxing bag mounts like this will usually have a recommended method of installation. If you can locate a brand or model number on the bracket, this may point you in the right direction.

If you can't track down the manufacturer's recommendations and want really definitive answers, unfortunately, you'd need to speak with an engineer.

I can't say with 100% certainty that it will be a perfect solution, but using a chemical anchor alongside a large mechanical anchor certainly seems like a good way to go.

Really appreciate you taking the time to give some advice!

Il go with plan A and see how it holds up, if i notice the anchors loosening i will take it down and go for plan b.
