How to repair chipped laminate kitchen benchtop?

Hi,

I am looking for guidance on the best glue to use to re-stick broken laminate bench top back together. The laminate has chipped off the corner edge - it’s a clean chip so fits back in place fairly well. Just not sure the best glue to use and any tips that might ensure a long term stick. Thank you in advance.

Hi a little bottle of Aquadhere is a very good glue that is thin so the laminate sits flat again and the glue dries clear so no ugly messes.

You will need some sticky tape to hold chip in place while glue sets.

Put 3 or 4 drops on the bench hole (the glue will drip so put a rag under the work zone) And seat the chip back in.

Wipe up any mess with a dry rag and put stinky tape around the end of the bench over the chip like a bandaid so it is locked into place it will dry in a hour but leave bandaid for 24 hours for full strength.

any rough glue marks use 1200 wet and dry sand paper to smooth it out on th glue not the laminate. Use the sand paper wet down with water for better results.

It's great to see that @Jewelleryrescue has already provided some helpful advice.

I'd suggest using a stong glue such as Selleys 24ml Araldite Ultra Clear Epoxy Glue. Ensure you coat the chip entirely before pushing it back into position. Tape it in place for 24 hours so the glue can set fully. Also remove any excess that squeezes out from behind the chip immediately.
