How to fix toilet that is not back to wall?

Dear experts

need your suggestions on how the gap between the toilet and the wall can be adjusted so that the toilet sits against the wall. Is there a solution that doesn’t require the tiles to be removed and moving the water line ??
such as passing the water the pipe in the cistern directly ??

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Zo. It's amazing to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about installing a toilet.

That's quite an unusual installation. If the toilet couldn't be shifted to the left so as not to contact the water outlet, then the water outlet should have been moved to the right so the toilet could be installed against the wall.

If this was a recent installation and it wasn't discussed that they could not install it against the wall, then I'd recommend you contact the installer and request they resolve the installation. Unless you specifically requested the toilet not be installed against the wall, potentially to save money, then this installation is not something you should expect.

The only option I can think of is either moving the toilet slightly to the left so it can be placed against the wall or having a plumber move the water outlet to the right. The water can't go directly in behind as you need the tap exposed to be able to shut off the water in an emergency.

the plumber is suggesting to remove the tiles to move pipes to the right for the toilet to sit back against the wall. I bought this toilet on his advice and at the time of installation he suggested to buy a different one because of the water line sitting too close.
I did go ahead with because I was told there is no other solution to it.

however, a diiferent suggested that I that it’s still possible to have the toilet sit all the way back by connecting the pipeline directly with the cistern and removing the shut valve from the back.
in case of emergency there is a valve in the cistern that could be closed off or shutting off the main water supply to address the issue

does this make sense ?

Hi @Zo,

It would likely be best to run that by the plumber. Not having an easily accessible shutoff valve is likely against code and the plumber might not be willing to install the toilet as such.
