How to fix downpipe coming off the wall?

Hi,

I'm experiencing an issue with my downpipe, which is shifting away from the building due to soil movement. The downpipe is connected to the stormwater pipe, and the soil movement is causing it to misalign. As you can see from the picture the both screws that hold the pipe are coming off the wall.
What would be the way to fix this?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @andiwijayas. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about attaching a downpipe.

It looks like the PVC pipe and fitting at the base have shifted so far out that the downpipe strap bracket is now beyond the range of being securely attached to the wall.

I imagine you wouldn’t want to go to the extent of adjusting the lower plumbing to move it back towards the wall. As a practical compromise, you could install a piece of timber behind the downpipe and securely attach it to the wall. This timber would serve as a spacer, allowing you to reattach the strap bracket and hold the downpipe firmly in place.

Make sure the timber is treated for outdoor use, such as treated pine decking and paint it to prevent moisture damage.
