How to remove flaking coating from timber floors?

Several years ago I applied our living and dining room with a Feast Watson Flooring Oil. The floor is T&G ironbark laid on a substrate oelow which is slab concrete. After a period the product just flakes off if a chair is moved across the floor. The whole floor shows evidence of flaking product. Other than sanding is there a chemical product that can be applied to soften and be able to wipe off without staining the timber? I cannot move funiture as it is too heavy and sanding is just not practical.

Any help appreciated.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your timber flooring.

When the oil seal on your timber flooring begins to flake off, it is often a sign that the floor covering has started to deteriorate. The only way to repair it is to sand the surface back to timber and re-apply the flooring oil. I'm currently not aware of a product that will stop your old flooring oil from flaking off the floor. 

In regards to the heavy furniture perhaps you can ask friends or family to help lift the furniture out of the way so that you can sand the flooring. Another option is to have it done professionally and asking a trades person to come and sand and seal your floor.
