How to install final panel in yellow tongue subfloor?

Hi I watched the YouTube video about laying a yellow tongue subfloor - very helpful thanks!

However, I want to know how to fit the final panel in to achieve a nice neat and snug fit, especially as it will be up against walls so no room for using a sledge hammer to knock it into place and having to work within a tight space.

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community and thank you for your question.

Are the walls finished, with plasterboard and skirting? If not, at what stage of construction are the walls? 

If there are skirting boards attached, I would remove them to lay your final sheets as they will cover between 11-18mm depending on the timber that was used. 

With the skirting board removed, you can cut the YellowTongue to size, allowing for a 3-5mm gap to the wall. You can then angle the YellowTongue with the tongue lined up in the last sheet's groove and lower it into place, pulling this sheet back towards the last sheet while it is lowered. The 3-5mm gap will allow the sheet to rotate into place.

When it drops into place, there will be a small gap to the wall that you can put 2-3 builder's wedges into along the length of the sheet. Tapping them down with a hammer will drive the sheet away from the wall and push it tight to the previous sheet.

Once they are tight, fix off the sheet and then install the skirting board and you will never know there is a slight gap beneath.
