How to fix leaking glass brick window?

I have an external glass brick window that is leaking. Rain seems to be seeping between the bricks. What is the best way to repair it.

The window is on an external wall o the en suite and normally only leaks when we get direct rain blowing on to it. There are no eaves above it.

Can you please tell us what kind of filler or adhesive was used on your glass brick windows? Would it be possible for you to post a photo of the glass brick window? This will give our members a better idea of the type of seal used between your glass bricks. Once we have a better idea of the seal used, we can then make recommendations on what you can possibly use to re-seal the gaps.

Unfortunately I don't know what sort of filler/adhesive was used on the window, but the house is 30 years old and the window is, I believe, original. Because the water doesn't tend to appear until we've had a day or two of continual rain and continues for a short time after rain has eased, I suspect that it is gradually seeping through the mortar/grout.

Hello @deagle

Thank you for sharing those pictures of your glass block windows. I've been in contact with the Dunlop technical team, and they suggest using Dunlop 3.25kg Slate Grey Easy Clean Epoxy Grout Kit. They recommend removing at least a minimum of 3mm of the old grout at the front and filling it with the Dunlop epoxy grout. If you wish to cover the inside section of the glass window you'll need to do the same thing.

I propose engaging the services of a tiler so that it can be patched in a professional manner. Engaging a professional tradesperson ensures that the services provided are covered by a warranty.
