How to fill the gap between downpipe and sunroof?

Hello all, I have got a sunroof built off my house. As there is a downpipe, the tradesman made a hole on the sunroof panel but the hole is larger than the pipe, which creates a small but not too small gap. It means there is leak when it rains which is not ideal. I wonder how I can fill the gap. I have thought about using clear sealant but the gap is not small enough to apply sealant. Is there anything I can buy from shop like Bunnings to cover and seal the gap in order to stop the leak. Hope the photo explains my situation. Thanks.

Generally speaking, when you have a cutout like this it is usually covered with a Deks 5 - 127mm Black Dektite Premium Roof Flashing. But because it is so close to the fascia, I'm not sure it will fit effectively.

It's really disappointing to see that a plumber has actually created a very obvious roof leak in repairing the down pipe.

Personally my first point of call would be to call them back to rectify this as they should have installed a product the same or similar to what @EricL recommended being Deks 5 - 127mm Black Dektite Premium Roof Flashing. This requires the pipe to be disconnected for the flashing to slip over the end. Then the base trimmed in order to fit within the tight space.

Otherwise the other solution would be to apply a clear silicone over several layers in the larger areas. The silicone is relatively fast to dry. Run a bead against and around the pipe and smooth it in with an ice-cream stick where you can against the clear roof sheet. Allow it to set then run another bead, this time track further out where the larger gaps are. Smooth this off and repeat. Then if you can, get on the roof and apply the silicone around the pipe with a much thicker bead and smooth out. The dried silicone on the underside will make this job a lot easier and in one go. You might need to push the silicone around the back with your finger if the silicon gun nozzle doesn't reach.

I would like to say "Howdy" and offer a warm welcome to the Community pages 🙂

I was thinking a little different to the others but along the same lines.

Maybe cut a square piece of something like this Palclear 900x600x3mm Pvc Sheet Suntuf 171868 or some clear plastic flexibale material, then cut the hole the actual size of your downpipe out. Once you have a square with a hole in it, then you cut it in half. Using silastic you glue it topside so its like a clamp that can fit around the pipe. The gap will be covered by the new plastic and then only a thin beed of silastic will be needed to secure it in place plus glue it to the roof.

I did think of the plastic you get on the cafe blinds and then it could be cut easily with scizzors to do the same. Not sure how fidly it would be 🙂
