Hi!
Recently had our skirting boards removed to install new flooring and re-installed after. However, when removing it has damaged some of the wall beneath. How do I fix this and prep to be painted?
Thanks!
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @antara. It's terrific to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about repairing a wall.It sounds like the wall damage is a common issue when removing skirting boards, but it’s straightforward to fix. Start by using a scraper to remove any built-up paint or torn paper from the wall surface. Once it's smooth, apply a plaster filler such as Selleys 180g Spakfilla Rapid Gap Filler, using only a small amount to cover the damaged area. Allow it to dry completely, then sand it back flush with the wall with 180-grit sandpaper. If needed, apply another thin coat of filler and sand again once dry. To prepare for painting, prime the repaired area with Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat. Once the primer is dry, you can finish with a topcoat like Dulux Interior Paint Wash&Wear Low Sheen for a durable and seamless finish. Please let me know if you have any questions.Mitchell
