How to fit a fibreglass mattock handle?

I bought this mattock replacement handle from bunnings its fiberglass. I brought it home and couldn't find any instruction on it or the company website and i've been searching for the past hour for any tutorials. How am i supposed to secure the handle to the mattock head to the handle here? The handle slides on but it doesn't fit securely and there's no wedge slot like wooden ones have.

My understanding is you slide the mattock into position on the handle - then 'drop' it (head down) onto a wooden surface or rubberised surface - and allow the impacting "G" forces, force the mattock into position.

I've never seen wedges for mattocks.

Hi @billygoat_b,

To get the head securely in place, hold the handle upright with the head sitting loosely on top. Then, give the bottom of the handle a solid whack against a hard surface like concrete or a sturdy wooden block. The impact will drive the head further up the tapered section, locking it in place. Once it feels snug, give the mattock a few test swings to make sure the head isn’t shifting. If it still feels loose, repeat the process until it stays put. As you use the mattock, the force from digging will naturally help tighten the fit even more.
