How to spray paint door frames?

Hi guys. We have just bought a new house. Every internal door and door frame requires painting. I plan to spray using this sprayer https://www.bunnings.com.au/wagner-w350-wood-and-metal-paint-sprayer_p0216877

As the walls will be painted and flooring replaced I see this as the most time efficient way. 

My question is what is the most suitable type of paint for spraying? Also I believe an oil based paint has been used previously so unsure of prep and if primer is required?

I have attached a photo of door and frames.

Any help advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to the Bunnings workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about spray painting your door frames.

If you have the done the paint test and are positive that the paint used is oil-based, I suggest sanding the surface of the door and frame very well until all the glossy finish is gone. It's necessary to sand the surface of the oil-based paint so that when you prime it with a water-based primer it will stick to the surface of the paint. I propose using Dulux 1Step Prep Primer, Sealer & Undercoat 4L as it can be used in a spray gun. For the topcoat, I recommend using Dulux 4L Aquanamel High Gloss White Enamel Paint it can be applied with a brush, roller or spray paint.

My best advice is to make sure to read the application instructions at the back of the can when using it in a sprayer. Please make sure to wear personal protection such as gloves, goggles and a paint mask when spraying your door and door frame.
