How to fix water damaged wall?

i had a leaking shower retiled and started on preparing the walls for painting. A fair bit of the paint had bubbled so started stripping it back. 

On 1 wall it went straight back to a primer which I can scrape off. Was planning to re-prime and paint

on the other wall though I found some sort of a sheet under the paint. I dont know how to repair this. should i remove more of it and then patch with something? o

Welcome to the Bunnings workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us and thanks for sharing your question about your paint job.

I strongly suggest stopping where you've currently taken off the paint and wall lining. If you are only repairing the paint, there is no need to remove the wall lining on the surface of your wall. I propose looking at the Nordsjo Professional 1L Light And Smooth Super Filler to fill the damage on your wall and on the uneven surface of the other side. Once the filler cures, I suggest sanding the surface until it is nice and flat. 

I recommend cleaning the surface and priming it with Crommelin 1L Flat Aquablock Waterproof Primer Undercoat - 1L. Once the primer cures, you can then paint it with your choice of topcoat.
