How to fix Ryobi trimmer carburetor blocked jet?

Ryobi trimmer RLT26CDSE carburetor has blocked fuel jet. Unable to clear to allow fuel to flow, outherwise working. A Few fuel drops into air intake allows to start for a short time until fuel runs out. unable to find a replacement carburetor on line search. This is driving me crazy.

A Carb for Ryobi RLT254CSOEN and RLT254CDSO picture appears very close to being the same. Price around $25.00. Looking for someone to advise me if these two are compatible to Ryobi trimmer RLT26CDSE carburetor, if so I would order one.

Further on contacting Ryobi was advised to call Bunnings orders section and advised that Ryobi trimmer RLT26CDSE carburetor can be ordered as special order for $65.29. This may be due to bunnings having Ryobi trimmer RLT26CDSE produced for them as a special run with their model bunnings only number Ryobi trimmer RLT26CDSE.

Can bunnings please advise re compatible or not?

Please allow me to forward your query to the Ryobi technical team. They should be able to determine if the RLT254CSOEN and RLT254CDSO is compatible with the RLT26CDSE. As soon as we get more information, we'll get back to you. My only other suggestion is to bring your carburetor to a machine shop that deals with carburetor's or a carburetor rebuilding shop.

I've checked with Ryobi, and according to their system, the other machines have different part numbers on their carburettors, and as far as they can tell, they are different and not compatible. I also got them to check the pricing on the others, and they are similarly priced to the one for your machine, which you've already enquired about.

Hi Mitchell, My Friend Ross, did the same as I did, the RLT26CDSE, checked the carby dismantled it cleaned using carby cleaner. still no fuel getting through put 5 drops of fuel down air intake. Started and ran for short time when fuel ran out. The the RLT26CDSE carby has an adjustment in an aluminium tube like bit, the round bit for adjustment could not be gripped by very pointy plyers. Or any other way we tried. At that point I told Ross I was going to buy a new carby. Ross then used a wire that cut the metal away, so could grip the adjustment, THAT WAS BLOCKING THE FUEL TO CARBY and away the trimmer went!! this adjustment Part-RUIXING Dot 2mm Carburetor Adjusting Tool for most Ryobi, I will buy one. This adjustment bit has not been adjusted by anyone, can only assume it has vibrated slowly to the closed position. I will mark it with paint to see if it continues to move through vibration. Also I have ordered the Carburetor Kit for Ryobi RLT254CDSO RLT254CSEON - Includes Air Filter & Hose. And have fitted it, started it and have adjusted the revs to be usable. I could not get the revs right but will keep it in reserve and use the original one as it is flying.

The new one has an adjustment that is very different to the original, being only a slight difference only. See pics attached.
