What is the best way of removing tile adhesive stains from outdoor porcelain tiles? We have tried warm soapy water, acetone and scrapers but nothing has made any difference.

I'd suggest using a tile-specific cleaner such as this Davco Tile And Grout Cleaner. It is a lightly acidic cleaner that is designed for use on tiles and grout and will help to remove tougher stains.
Mix it with water, at a ratio of 10 parts water to 1 part cleaner. Make sure to test it on an inconspicuous area before committing to its wider use, as acidic cleaners can react with some tiles and cause discolouration.
