How to repair crazy pave slate porch?

I would like to reseal this slate but have noticed a few gaps in the grout that I thought I should probably fix first. Because it’s not directly on the ground not sure if the process is the same as for the other crazy pave posts on here (or whether to just reseal over the top). Thanks!

A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

There are two approaches you could take to this, depending on how much effort you want to put into the repair.

The first, which is much more work but would look better, is to remove the grout through a combination of chipping and grinding, then replace it with all-new Wide Joint Grout. This would eliminate the cracks and give you a much more uniform finish.

The second approach is to simply fill the cracks in the grout with a filler such as this Gripset Betta Concrete Crack Filler before resealing. This would fill the cracks and make it look better than it does currently, but the cracks would still be there, and the filler might not match the existing grout perfectly

Either option will work, but the first would be a much better fix, whereas the second would be an acceptable aesthetic repair before resealing.

I am happy to offer further guidance on either approach.
