How to paint brick walls?

Hi I’m planning to paint garage walls for a tidy look. Any recommendations on products like what will primer and paint will be best to use on brick . This will be my first ever DIY project. I have never done painting before. Have been watching lots of you tube videos so I’ll give it a go.

In order to give our members a better idea of what kind of walls you have, would it be possible for you to post a few photos of your garage walls? This will give us a chance to assess it, we can then make recommendations on what primer and top coat to use in your painting project.
