How to attach braided hose to laundry tap then out to bath?

Hi all, I’ve got an outdoor bath and am about to build a little enclosure for it. It’s right outside the laundry so wondering if there’s a way to attach a 3-4m hose to the laundry tap, put it in the bath, turn it on then open a valve of some sort on the other end to fill the tub? Then when it’s full just have the hot water coming in, and opening the valve when it needs topping up.

Basically, what laundry tap attachment would work, and what do I put on the “bath end” of the hose to have control over when the tap is on or off? (Ideally would have temp control, but that would involve plumbers!)

photos show the laundry tap in question and the window/wall the hose could go thru, and the the bath in relation to the window (currently further from it than it will be).

I'm afraid your spout is not designed to accept any threaded fittings. I propose changing your spout to a Shaw & Mason Chrome Bath Spout Diverter. I propose attaching a Brasshards 20 x 15mm Brass Threaded Hex Reducing Bush LF on the diverter which will then allow you to install a Pope 12mm Universal Tap Adaptor. This will then allow you to clip on your garden hose to your bath. This allows you to choose between hot and cold and you can also turn the diverter off from the spout.

However, if you are after braided hose, I propose looking at the Kinetic 4m Stainless Steel Washing Machine And Dishwasher Inlet Hose,. You can connect two of these hoses together to get a longer length if you need it.

Thanks a lot Eric! I will go with the braided mainly because I’m not sure a regular hose will be able to handle the hot water?

for the other end, what would you suggest as an attachment? I need something with a valve so someone can turn on the hot water at the tap, then open the valve/switch/whatever to top up while in the bath…

I suggest using a Brasshards 20 x 15mm Brass Threaded Hex Reducing Bush LF on the other end of the braided hose so that you can fit a Kinetic 20mm Brass Back Plated Tap. The good part about it is that it is made for outdoor use and can withstand the elements. I propose building a mini timber stand for it so that it can be left at the side of the bath like a normal wall tap.

I’m just doing up my cart here, and was just wondering what piece of kit I’ll need to join up two of the 4m inlet hoses, or ideally one of the 4 and connect it to this one: https://www.bunnings.com.au/kinetic-2m-stainless-steel-shower-hose_p4920458 ?

You'll need to use a Brasshards 15mm Brass Threaded Hexagon Nipple LF to join the hoses together. Please remember to use FIX-A-TAP 12mm x 8m Blue PTFE Thread Seal Tape on all the threaded sections to prevent leaks.
