How to service roll down blinds?

I have a group of roll down blinds protecting a deck and some large windows. The mechanism is covered by a box with plastic ends. Obviously inside this box is all the workings for the blinds but I can't work out how to get in to it when it is positioned tight between uprights and brickwork. 

Once inside what is best to use to lubricate all the moving parts as I can barely move my blinds after the latest rainfall. Thanks for any advise.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @skidlydia. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about maintaining roll-down blinds.

I suspect that access to the internals would be through the front facade of the unit. On the sides, there are pop-rivets. You'd likely need to drill these out to release the front panel and gain access.

The manufacturer would probably be able to advise on the specific type of grease needed for lubrication. If contacting them is not possible, then something like Valvoline 500g Multi-Purpose Grease should be fine.

As you'll be working at heights, take precautions and reach out to a handyperson if you are not confident. Here's a helpful guide: How to use ladders safely. Also, be very careful working around the window as the glass can shatter easily. It's best to wear safety glasses and gloves, a long-sleeved shirt, trousers and enclosed footwear.
