Remedy yellow leaves on climbing beans?
Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @rodo4. It's a pleasure to have you join us and many thanks for your question on climbing bean care.
Yellowing leaves on climbing beans can happen for a few different reasons, so it would be helpful if you could share a little more detail about the growing conditions and, if possible, upload a photo of the plant. That way we can better narrow down the cause.
Some of the common issues include a lack of nutrients, particularly nitrogen, which beans rely on for strong green growth. Overwatering or poor drainage can also lead to yellow leaves, as beans don’t like sitting in soggy soil. On the flip side, if they’ve been left too dry, stress can also cause discolouration. Pests such as aphids or sap-sucking insects might be a factor, as can fungal diseases if there’s not enough airflow. Environmental factors like sudden temperature changes can also play a role.
If you can let us know how often they’re watered, whether you’ve fertilised recently, and what the soil conditions are like, it will make it easier to provide specific advice. If you can also upload an image of the plants, that would be rather helpful. Let me know if you need a hand posting images.
Whilst we wait for additional details, here's a helpful guide: How to grow beans.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
