How to fix roof metal sheet joining to prevent water leak?

Minor leak to the bedroom ceiling after recent heavy rain, I’ve scraped off the existing silicon and roof pointing, the rain is definitely leaking through the gap. Wondering what’s a long term fix for the metal sheet joints?

Would Gorilla or T-Rex waterproofing tape be able to withstand the sunlight at the roof?

or just use Selley roof gutter silicone the entire section?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your roof flashing.

I propose using Selleys 290ml Grey Storm Waterproof Gutter And Roof Sealant. Once the silicone has properly cured, I suggest using CAgroup 75mm x 3m Weatherproof Byute Flash Flashing Tape over it. My best advice is to make sure to push the flashing tape very well onto the roof surface by using the rounded end of a screwdriver handle.
