How to use water tanks for the garden?

I am wanting to use the large water tanks for the garden which I think is connected to a downstairs toilet..?

My first question is;

Since the tanks have been at the rented property before we started renting (over 5 years), should I test the water in the tank , which is 90% full, or just completely drain out and start again?

2nd question;

I would like to connect a garden hose to the pump to use on garden/lawns and do not have a clue where to start ..???

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

Unfortunately, as the pump is connected to plumbing fixtures within your home, it would be best to speak with a plumber to ensure any modifications made to the system to allow for a garden hose do not affect this existing connection.

As this is a constant-pressure pump, your plumber would need to add a tap or valve after the pump so that it can be opened and closed when needed.

Unfortunately, I can't be much more assistance. A plumber would be the best person to speak to.
