How to build a garden bed down side of the house?

Hello, we would love to build a garden bed down the side of the house. We are unsure how to build the edging as there is concrete run off from the pathway and it is up against the fence. Initially we were hoping to build a brick edging. 

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to go about this? How can we build a garden edge here?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

The best way to get a nice, clean edge is to use a concrete saw, such as this For Hire Cordless Demolition Saw, to cut off and remove the concrete run off. When using this saw, make sure to wear long protective clothing, enclosed shoes preferably steel-capped, gloves, eye and ear protection.

Once the concrete run off has been cut and removed, you can dig a small trench a little bit wider than the width of the bricks you are using and 50-100mm deep. You'll then fill this trench with road base and compact it with a tamper to create a solid base for the bricks to sit on.

Once this solid foundation is in place, you can lay your bricks over the road base like you would with pavers. If you'd like, you can add a small bed of mortar to set the bricks on and then ramp up to it on the outside to help hold it in place.
