How to paint 10 year old exterior rendered wall?

Hi everyone.

First time on this forum.

I have a 10 year old house that needs the exterior walls painted.

The wall itself looks desperate for a coat of paint. Wall looks very dry, to me.

I have been looking around the internet for advice but and I have the following questions/dilemmas:

1. Do I need to prime the wall prior?

2. Any advice on type/brand of paint best suitable for this type of wall.

3. Do I need to mix the paint with water or I can just apply straight out of the container? 

Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about painting your exterior wall.

To prepare your wall for painting, I suggest giving it a good clean and wash. I recommend scrapping off any peeling paint on the surface and sanding down any areas that are flaking or uneven. Wash the wall with 30 Seconds 5L Outdoor Cleaner Concentrate, please remember that this is a concentrate and must be diluted in a sprayer before use. If you have access to a pressure washer, I suggest using it to rinse your wall. Once the wall is clean allow at least 72 hours for the wall to totally dry up make sure that there is no residual dampness before you begin painting. 

I suggest using a standard roller such as the Paint Partner 230mm Paint Roller Kit - 230mm along with a painting pole. I recommend using Dulux 4L Vivid White Low Sheen Weathershield Exterior Paint - 4L tinted to your preferred colour. Please measure the size of your walls and bring it to your stores paint specialist in order to get the correct quantity of paint.
