How to move semi-frameless pool fencing?

I have existing semi frameless pool fencing where the glass panels are fixed with rubber splices in each post to ensure the glass does not move.

I am about to have installed outdoor patio blinds & they have advised I need to move the glass by about 75mm.

What is the best way to do this?

Hi @PGKN,

Moving the glass would mean moving the posts, so we'd have to see how they are mounted at the base to see if this is feasible or not. If you can take some photos of how the posts are mounted, I could certainly advise.

In saying this, moving the glass is inherently dangerous as there is always potential for it to shatter. If moving the glass could be avoided, I think this is a better approach to the issue. I would be looking at how the blinds could be installed differently to avoid moving the glass.

Did the blind installers say why the glass needs to be moved?

Are they full-height blinds, and are they going to hit the glass if installed at the current location?

If so, is there any way you could add timber to the mounting point to pack it out by at least 75mm so that the blinds don't hit the glass?
