How to replace festoon light transformer?

Hello,

I bought 3 sets of the 4.5m, 10 bulb, Lytworx Tayrona festoon lights about a year ago and linked all 3 of them together. I find I am burning out the plug/transformer that came with the set. The box says I can link up to 4 sets together at one time. Is there a higher wattage transformer plug I can get that is more suited to having multiple linked sets. The transformer is 6w 24v DC.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's sensational to have you join us, and thanks for sharing your question about your festoon lights.

If the transformer is burning out, I suggest holding off on using the festoon lights and pulling the transformer out of the plug to avoid any future electrical issues.

Can I please ask a few questions before we call Lytworx about this issue? Are the connections on the festoon lights secure and weather safe? Are the festoon lights fully exposed to the elements and not under any cover? Is your wall plug secure from the weather and is it made for outdoor use? We will call Lytworx tomorrow about the transformer query but if you can provide us with more information that would be great.

Yeah the lights are secured underneath the eaves of the verandah out of the weather as is the plug. I've tried different power points to see if this is the problem as well but to no avail.

I do apologise for the inconvenience.

Lytworx expects the included transformer to run those lights with up to four sets combined. Given the rate at which you are going through the transformers, I'd be more than happy to arrange for Lytworx to send you a replacement higher-capacity transformer and additional transformers included in the sets. I'll reach out via private message for your details.
