How to stain a hardwood deck

We have a very small 3rd floor deck in our apartment. I plan to use Cabots oil based stain. The deck has no obvious stains patches

. 

Would a scrub with detergent/water be ok to clean it. We can't get a hose to wash off Cabots cleaner as recommended in their instructions.

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community, it is fantastic to have you with us.

You could still clean your decking using a Deck Scrub Brush and Cabot's Deck Clean; you would just need to flush it with clean water after cleaning. The hose is just to flush any dirt or residual cleaner from the deck after cleaning it.

Since you don't have a hose that you can use, you can just fill up a bucket with clean water and use that to flush the cleaner off. It may just take a few buckets to ensure everything gets cleaned off.
