Garage Opener

I’m looking at installing a electric garage opener to an existing garage door. The door is a tilt a door and Bunnings sells openers for roller doors and sectional doors. The sectional openers recommend that it is suitable for sectional doors but  no mention of tilt doors. Can they be used for this purpose?

You are correct that they do not design sectional openers to operate tilt doors. A sectional door runs in a greased track system and allows a smaller motor to operate it. A tilt door requires a motor with a higher torque capacity. We can special order from our suppliers an opener for tilt doors. The Merlin Commander Elite MS105MYQ would be an example of a suitable opener.
