Looking for door latch replacement with privacy pin

Hi All, I’m looking for this tool- I think it is called a Tubular Latch with lock pin? The pin got broken and is now stuck in the latch, so I’d like to replace it. I tried going to Bunnings in Port Melbourne and they didn’t have the ones with a pin! I live in the city and don’t have a car.. so I walked about 30 mins to get there and 30 mins back. I’m finding the most time and cost efficient way to get it fixed. I don’t want to buy a new knob, because I would have to drill new holes to the door, which make things more complicated as I do not have a driller (I did buy a knob when I couldn’t find the latch with pin, and the knob would not fit). Does anyone know where I can get this? I have some pictures of the measurements below. I need this within 3-5 days!! Thanks!

My apologies for the late reply. Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's fantastic to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your door latch.

There is a latch with a privacy function on it, but it will have to be specially ordered and I'm afraid there will not be enough time to order it in if you're leaving in five days. Plus, I can't guarantee that it will work with your existing set. I'm aware that you've purchased a new set and it does not fit. There are several steps that you need to take into consideration if you are purchasing a new privacy door lock.

Things to do when replacing a privacy door lock:

• When going to the store bring the entire door lock set with you. This will allow the hardware team specialist to match your existing set with a new one. Make sure to ask for assistance so that it will be matched as close as possible. Make sure to match it part by part.

• Make sure the new set has the feature called "Adjustable backset 60mm / 70mm" This means that it will fit into both old and new settings. 

• Put the door fixtures side by side to make sure that the holes for the screws are in the same place.

An example of a new door set is the Ikonic Brushed Nickel Isabella Lever Privacy Set. The lock is now integrated with the door handle whereas the old set use to have it separate. It has an adjustable backset and will work with door thicknesses from 35mm to 55mm. There are other models available, but you will need to match them to your existing set. If the installation is proving to be too much of a challenge, you may have to engage the services of a tradesperson.
