If you're a cyclist, your bike is your pride and joy but there's no doubt that they take up a lot of room. I'm curious about how other community members have solved the problem of where to store their bikes. I'd love to see your storage solutions.

You will see them being used when I upload my overhead laundry cupboard photo's.

Does Bunnings cut wood to size?

Many Bunnings stores offer a timber cutting service to help you get your wood home and get started on your project.

Here are some frequently asked questions about our timber cutting service to help Bunnings Workshop members.

What type of cuts can be done at a Bunnings store?

Bunnings stores typically have two types of saws for timber cutting.

Docking saw - used to cut long lengths of timber down to size. The machine can cut across the length of timber at a 90-degree angle. Examples of products that can be cut on a docking saw include Pine framing, MDF mouldings, Pine mouldings, Tasmanian Oak mouldings, Merbau decking and Pine decking.

Panel saw – used to cut large sheet materials into smaller rectangular sections and pieces. The machine is capable of both horizontal and vertical cuts on most of our board products. Some examples of products that can be cut using a panel saw include Melamine, Plywood and MDF.

Does this service have a cost?

Bunnings stores may charge a small fee for timber cutting. The price is:

Timber docking - First two cuts per piece are free, and 50 cents per additional cut

Panels and sheeting - First cut is free and $1 per additional cut.

Is this service available at my local Bunnings?

You can check whether the timber cutting service is available at a nearby store by visiting the Bunnings website. Here’s how:

Mobile device - Select your nearest store and then click on your store's name on the top left of the screen. This will take you to your store's information page, including details about what services they offer

Desktop computer - Type the nearest store's name in the change store drop-down and then click on store details. This will take you to your store's information page, including details on what services they offer.

Can I bring my own piece of timber to be cut?

Due to the many variables associated with timber products, we can only cut products purchased from our stores.

When is the best time to visit a store for timber cutting?

Visting at a quieter time will ensure faster service. It's best to avoid weekends and public holidays as many other D.I.Y. enthusiasts will also be looking to build their own projects.

What if I want to do the cutting at home?

Knowing what saw to use and how to use it is the key to success. Here are some useful guides to get you started:

What if I can't get my timber home?

I need to have my timber delivered, but can it be cut as well?

Portable small work table, 900mm long x 450mm wide

I have just completed making and installing shelves and duct cover for a range hood cupboard for my nephews new place, I new he had no work benches to work on, so I decided to to make a small portable work bench, made out of mdf top and hardwood (Tas oak) all materials are from Bunnings. The finish has been waxed,(I hate painting) I made it so I can take it apart to fit in the car. It was very useful on site. I routered 20mm equally spaced to allow for clamping the timber to be routered.<span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="IMG_7536.JPG" style="width:
Cheapest, easiest flooring for a new 3x3m shed

Hi ya’all, I’ve just purchased a 3x3m garden shed and was wanting a concrete slab under it but as I’m only a poor pension I found the price a wee bit too much for me even if I did it all myself, then somebody suggested pavers or flagstones as the floor and another said make a pallet floor and anchor my shed in four corner concrete foundations? Well I’m easy and willing to give anything a go so long as it doesn’t break the bank,so PLEASE for a capable Pensioner Lady that hasn’t got small bucks let alone big bucks to play with what type of flooring do you think would be cheapest for me?

I bought this old workbench for $30. I want to extend it and customise it to fit around my woodworking. I've never done something like it before so it's another new challenge. I'm.not going to rush through it though. I.wish I could just spend all my time in it instead of doing other life stuff but meh I cannot.

Hi there

I think I'm really missing something but I have scoured the internet and can't find the answer. I just bought this Maddeford hose reel and I assumed you'd just insert the 12mm hose and start winding but it doesn't fit properly. Was I meant to buy an adapter? Help! Thanks. https://www.bunnings.com.au/maddeford-wide-economy-hose-reel_p3117911

Hi,

I had to glue some cupboard doors for an overhead cupboard I'm making, I could never get the frames perfectly square, so I decided to make this jig to hold the the doors in place whilst gluing them. It was quite simple to make, all I did was use some squared off melamine and screwed timber edges to three sides, hopefully others could use this idea, when trying to glue timber at 90 degree square.

I only glued one end, I need to slide a glass panel in before gluing the other end, still waiting for the glass to arrive.

Ryobi tool holders for French cleat wall

I have been re-modelling my work space in the last couple of weeks, and decided to go with a French Cleat wall for my tools.

Please note that this is a work-in-progress at the moment and not completed.

I am happy with the Drill Station, using 90mm PVC is ok, but would opt for something a little thicker walled next time.

My favourites are, the holder for the Angle Grinder and the twin Multi Tool and Angle Drill holder.

Angle Grinder with Tools and Accessories.

Jigsaw holder is great with a shelf for blades etc.

The holder for the Trim Router is ok, but I might expand it to include some router bits.

A couple of quick holder for the Digital Pressure Inflator and Reciprocating Saw.

My least favourite is the Circular Saw holder, I will change this as it just doesn't look right.

You might notice that the French Cleats on the back of the holders also work on the 'C' section of the shed wall.

Thanks for looking, I will post updates as work progresses.

Initially, the plan was to hang the bag from the largest beam in the car port which is approx 200x50mm. However, this will mean the bag will be far too low. I would therefore instead like to hang the bag from the secondary beam which is approx 90mm (deep) x 50mm (wide). With the weight in mind, I was wondering if I could fix the bag to this secondary beam? I’ve included some images showing the beam and also the ‘heavy duty’ fixing bracket / fixings I plan on using. Any help / assistance / point load info would be greatly appreciate... the last thing I want to do is damage the beam and my carport. Thanks, Sean.

New gardening workbench and storage

I bought a workbench flat pack for my daughter from Bunnings for $89 (what a bargain) I’m so pleased with it. I’m going to glue some vinyl on the bench top because we will be using water and soil on it when potting plants and seedlings. The old phone was from my Dad’s shed so when he died we couldn’t bare to get rid of it as he taught my daughter everything she knows about gardening and she wanted to keep it with her gardening things (she says so she can call him when she needs some advice). The storage for the larger garden tools was an idea I found on Pinterest, so I have put two pellets together one taller at the back and just screwed them together, I’m thrilled with them especially how it has tidied up this whole area in the shed.

Exposing stud walls and roofing in Garage - What do I need to look out for?

Hi there,

I'm looking to expose the stud walls and roof struts in my garage so it sort of has a barn-like feel to it. In my head, the project involves:

1) removing the existing plasterboard walls and ceiling;

2) installing plasterboard to seal off the garage from 1 adjoining wall with a living area in the house where not already plasterboarded;

3) potentially treating or painting the stud walls and roof struts to ensure water and insect resistance?

Are these the right steps? Are there other steps I'm missing? What should I be looking out for and doing when it comes to each of these?

Thanks so much!

Happy new year to all of you.

I am trying to use my break from work and thought of painting my garage. I cleaned the garage. This garage has been painted.

already. This is not a fresh concrete floor. I would like to add flakes on the floor. Someone said I cannot add flakes (like in the second picture) on the floor which has already been painted. Is there any way I can add flakes? Also, after painting the floor, how long it is recommended before we can start parking the car?

Using Structaflor yellow as a wall liner for shed

I've just built a 6m x 3m steel shed which I am decking out as a workshop.

I plan to insulate with batts and was considering lining it with Structaflor 19 x 3600 x 800mm GP Yellowtongue structual flooring.

This would have enough depth to allow me to have french cleats along one long wall and enough length and width to effectively (and cheaply) line the walls.

It would also give me a much nicer finish than looking at steel walls.

My questions are:

1. Would the flooring warp or otherwise if hung vertically?

2. Would it have enough "strength" to be used vertically?

3. Can I use a clear polyethylene finish to give the walls a bit of protection and make it easier to keep the dust down?

4. Would I need to seal all sides so it wouldn't be effected by moisture in the air etc?

Cheers

These days, we have so much to choose from as far as timber goes.

Back in the day, it used to be merely MDF board, which was OK, unless it got wet and it would swell up and twist and ruin anything

you made out of it.

Moving forward a number of years, we now have plywood, it is kiln-dried, you can get it in any size you like from 8mm up to 19mm

should you need that thickness and in sheet sizes from 1200 x 1200 up to 2400mm x 1200mm.

Do you folks use MDF?, sure it's OK for stuff inside the house, but for a garage/workshop?

What are your thoughts, either way?

Cheers,

Mike T.

Help me build my outdoor cabinet

Hi all, I'm looking to build an external cupboard to store old toys, porta cot, golf clubs, Xmas tree and anything else I can't fit in my small shed.

As much as it is going to be outside, in Melbourne, I plan to locate it under a carport in an area where it won't get wet from rain or touched by the sun (maybe one side for 1 or 2 hours tops during summer). Humidity will change and be high in winter etc but as I said water from rain won't be an issue at all.

It will be free standing and as it is in a carport but I also need to lock it for security. It will be around the back of the house where 2 town houses have been built on sub divided land.

I trust the current tenants (they are our properties) but the occasional delivery person, guest etc does go around the back. I won't store anything of sentimental value that can't be replaced. Therefore it doesn't need to be fort knox but at the same time secure enough that someone would have to use significant force to break in.

Dimensions will be roughly 2.7 x 2.0 x .75m (WxHxD)

I'm slowly building the plans in my head as I go, but I was hoping for some advice on what type of timber I should use. This is not my strong point. Treated vs not treated. Dressed vs not dressed.

I was thinking that the main 6 post would be approx 100x100mm.

I am considering using plywood panels for the sides, back, doors and roof. Although it won't look as nice, in my mind this would be less work and cheaper. Thoughts? Ideas on what thickness?

I am trying to keep the costs as low as possible. So if I have to do a bit of sanding to save significant money that's ok.

Any other advice you might have would be great too. Looking forward to your help and sharing my journey.

Old shed reno - games room conversion

Hi , thought i might share some photo's of the old shed that was at the house we bought a couple of years ago that we have converted into a games room/spare room over the last year.

The shed is 6X5 metres inside and the covered area outside is 3X5m so a nice size

We lifted the roof off and insulated underneath then screwed it back down, sounds like a big job but with the misses on the ladder we did it in about 4 hours.

underneath the ceiling was done in 6mm cement sheeting as we are in a really high rainfall area and didn't want to worry about gyprock getting wet as it is still essentially a shed

All the interior walls are insulated with 120 mm insulation the lined with 9mm plywood

we had an asbestos removalist removed the end wall so we could put in the sliding door.

The cabinets are from Bunnings and do the job perfectly

had a sparky run the power inside and outside as well as antenna connections

I’m looking at installing a electric garage opener to an existing garage door. The door is a tilt a door and Bunnings sells openers for roller doors and sectional doors. The sectional openers recommend that it is suitable for sectional doors but no mention of tilt doors. Can they be used for this purpose?

Impending hypoxia?

Earlier this year during the intense COVID lock-down I purchased a Trade Flame oxygen/propane torch kit. It was massively reduced on clearance and I asked why - I was told Bunnings was getting rid of them as customers preferred the oxygen/acetylene range.

Not a problem I thought, I'm very happy with the oxygen/propane set up.

Then yesterday, I noticed every oxygen/propane/acetylene accessory on the wall was on clearance. Staff present couldn't give a clear picture as to why apart from "removing items that don't sell."

My "concern" now is does this mean Bunnings is getting out completely of the gas range and Oxygen will soon not be available?

Would you be able to look into this for me please Mitchell? <LI-USER uid="14838"></LI-USER>

Cheers!

Has anyone built a foldable work bench for their garage?

Hello friendly workshopers,

I have been looking for ideas to build a compact and neat workbench in the garage that is already crammed with things. Google search brings up pictures of few foldable ones.

Some of the online tutorials use piano hinges attached to MDF / wooden slabs, and have one or two legs attached to the board on a hinge as well.

Wondering if anyone has built a foldable work bench in their garage and could share pictures if any.

I’ve have come across this picture on a google search and looks great! Wondering if anyone could reverse engineer this pic and suggest how something similar could be built?

Regards,

3D printers - eliminating vibrations.

Hey everyone, this is a bit left field, but I do a lot of 3D printing, and among external things (not the printer equipment) you have to consider are:

Heat and humidity (it affects the filament, and the quality of the print)

Vibrations when printing (vibrations affect the accuracy of the print if there are vibrations as the print head/bed/filament spool moves.

So I thought a few ideas of what I have done to make things much better might be of interest.

My workshop is in a shed, not air conditioned, but draught, moisture and dust free. A portable Air Conditioner keeps it good in summer, although it never gets too hot anyway.

I wanted to improve things without spending too much, and without getting too complicated.

A sturdy table is a must, and a cement floor, although I have anti-static plastic matting for most areas in there. This isn't a place for my garden tools.😁

Moving the filament holder OFF the 3D printer is a must. Most 3D printers have the spool hanging off the frame somewhere, and as the spool unwinds, you can build up resonances and vibrations. Filament is most often 1Kg, so that's a lot of weight you don't need.

So I bought some Flexi Storage Shelving and matching brackets - easy to put up, so easy my wife is afraid at the number I have used in the house now.

I 3D printed a filament holder that keeps the filament safe and easy to unwind (the old filament spool is still on the frame, to show it's original position):

So the next thing to do is further educe the source of vibrations by putting the whole printer on a foam mat. Some people swear by bricks, not me, the foam also cuts down the noise.

So I bought a few packs of interlocking foam mats, (I only need one mat, but so cheap I bought some for the future when the grandson is playing in his outdoor set).

That foam mat cuts down hugely on the vibrations. I could post images of before and after print jobs to show the difference, but I threw the old prints away 😫

Total cost, around $65.00, and I have stuff left over for other uses.

So I'm printing out vases for Christmas for some of the relatives (yes, waterproof) and toys for the nephews, nieces and grandkids.

Some of these are my own design (FreeCad)

Creating a workshop, need some power tool suggestions

Hi All,

I'm looking at converting my double garage to a workshop (car will be outside when working as well). So I use to be a woodworking student 15 years ago before going to to white collar work but looking to get back into it and tools have changed/improved since.

I am wondering what tools I should buying. I have created a list have noticed I am mainly using ryobi/aeg due to their competitive prices and long warranty period, as well as going corded vs cordless. I am considering makita for some of the saws/jigsaw since their cheaper ones are quite affordable but not sure on durability.

I already own the ryobi cordless drill and impact driver kit.

Below is a list of wants. i have chosen based on functionality, and other buyer's review of the product. Please comment if I should get something else, corded vs cordless.

Mitre Saw: AEG 1800W 254mm Dual Bevel Slide Compound Mitre Saw

Circular Saw: AEG 1200W 184mm Circular Saw

Orbital Sander: AEG 300W 125mm Random Orbital Sander or Ryobi 300W Random Orbital Sander

Jigsaw: AEG 700W Variable Speed Jigsaw or Ryobi 600W 85mm Jigsaw

ShopVac: Ryobi 1500W 30L Wet and Dry Vacuum

Will buy down the track: Comment if I should get it earlier

Brad Nailer: Ryobi cordless ones.

Hi,

my local Bunnings does cut timber to size. I also need it delivered.
Am I able to send a list of what I need and get it done?

Or do I need to visit store, buy timber, get it cut to size and then organize delivery?

is just some sleepers and yellow tongue board for a shed base but I only have small car so they will not fit.

thanks

Ozito Grinder 18v Brushless 125mm PXBAGS-125

I've been gradually switching over to the Ozito 18v range, previously using a lot of Ryobi 18v. All the tools so far have been perfect, well above expectations. But I've been having issues with the 18v brushless 125mm grinder. Early on, after doing a small amount of masonry cutting, the switch stopped working. I got it going again, by puffing in a bit of graphite powder. But the grinder has continued to have intermittent switch problems, and today it won't go at all. Is it the switch, or is it an electronics issue?

I rang Ozito today, and they say that this is not a common problem with this tool. Has any one else had similar issues?

It would be a shame if this is a common problem, as the design and function of this grinder are otherwise exceptional.

Help !! How to fix a huge dent/bent in the drywall

Hey guys !! Hope everyone is safe....

My garage has this weird dent or bent (refer pics below), don't know what to call it. It looks like the drywall or plasterboard has been pushed hardly inwards by the previous owner. It has created an awkward looking bent on the wall now. Also looks like the previous owner tried to conceal some holes as well and they have done terrible job at that.

I need your expertise to help me fix that bent. I will be repainting the wall. So if you can help me with your ideas to straighten out the bent that will be of huge help.

I have connected all panels except the last side panel which has 14 pins. The pins line up with the holes but won't go in far enough to lock with the cams. Any help would be appreciated. As a last resort I might remove the pins and screw the panel to the rest of the cabinet. Thanks

Circular saw blade

I have a Ryobi Circular saw with 150mm 18 teeth saw blade. It does cross cut on a 30mm thick plywood at 45 degree angle just fine. I read somewhere where blades with more teeth will give a cleaner finish cut. So I bought a Ozito with 36 teeth blade as Ozito is the only brand I could find that makes 150mm blade. But whenever I put on the Ozito blade, I couldn't finish cutting the plywood at 45 degree angle. The motor and blade always stop halfway. I checked the blade wasn't loose. And when I changed the blade back to Ryobi then it worked fine. Does anyone know what could be the problem? It's not brand compatibility issue, is it?

And it sounded like the circular saw worked harder with Ozito blade when I was cutting the plywood straight and also left burnt marks.

Henry

Small shed makeover

I have a very small space for my shed - it's 1.1m X 3.6m (so more or of a glorified cupboard) that I was keen to make the most of so generally vertical is the way to go - I don't have a before shot but I couldn't walk from end to end - but here is what did in the space:

Gave it a coat of some left over interior paint

Installed the laminate floor (not first choice for a workshop but the space is a bit tight to use for actually working so it was a way to give the space a bit more of a sense of completeness) - I went for the Terrene Oak Bevelled Edge Laminate Flooring - 2 packs was the perfect amount (This needs underlay) installed the quad and transitions to neaten the finish and protect a bit from future damage. This flooring is easy to install but I get the sense it's easy to chip or damage so probably would recommend for a high traffic / duty area

Installed pegboard I used 2 X Masonite 1220 x 915mm 4.8mm - mounted on the stud wall with the help of some left over pickets from a picket fence.

I purchased a few different types of hooks because I wasn't sure what would work best - I fount the black Pinnacle ones worked the best for my purposes - fitted snuggly in the holes and have cap on the end (important as I'm likely to bang into them getting something off the shelfs)

I modded some of the shelving by cutting in some round holes for my drills to sit neatly and circular saw to sit flush with the blade attached

I organized all my screw and nails with the help of the two Tactix storage containers - one single sided one double sided for the smaller bits and bobs. these containers are AMAZING - I will be getting a couple more to help organize all my IT work space too (I've included a pic to give a sense of how much can be stored in these)

I'm still looking to organize some of my larger garden tools - but it's tricky to do without being able to browse in store - I think I'll end up mounting something on the wall to let them hang

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a cost effective and DIY thing to line this existing wall on my garage. This wall is about 6mLx2.2mH. Other walls are brick walls which I am painting them now. I may need to add new batten system as the existing timber frame quite old and not straight. Thanks, Kevin

Shed flooring / base levelling advice

Hi Everyone

I'm about to order the Absco 2.26 x 0.78 Shed for the space in the picture below. https://bit.ly/33OI1U7

I'm after advice regarding the floor/base. The pavers it will sit on (picture below) were laid 25 years ago and are reasonably level but not perfect. I'll be replacing the pavers or decking over them within the next 18 months, so I don't want to go to high expense or effort on a floor, and I'm happy with the pavers being the shed floor. Having said that I still want it to be secure and not rocking/dodgy.

I'll be employing the Bunnings tradie to assemble/install the shed and want to set him up right.

Seeking suggestions regarding risers/levellers, attachments to the pavers/fence etc It's a very sheltered spot so no concerns about wind/big storms/kids/animals.

Thanks in advance! Ari

Lining cement sheeting with timber

My garage is lined with cement sheeting and then bagged, but a lot of the bagging is cracking up and breaking away, particularly around the joins and corners. I'm not sure there is a solution to repair (as it will likely keep happening), but was thinking I could line it with merbau decking as we have a lot of merbau around the house and the front fence. Does anyone know if this would work, by simply screwing the boards directly into the garage studs, or would you suggest building an additional frame to attach to the garage and screw the boards into that?

Garage floor needs a refresher as 20 years of various oil, 'rust' marks, grime etc. Have so far only washed with mop and tried removing oil stains without much luck. I see the preparation products offered for cleaning and making it suitable to absorb paint but worried that as the brick walls are releasing sand from mortar, if I use a gurney or any effort to clean where wall meets floor, i'm just releasing more sand so is damaging to walls and will put grit into the paint. Any tips? I thought of sticking heaving masking tape along the walls but it will still release more mortar when i remove it.

Also, there are some small cracks in the concrete as am on a hill and have very slight subsidence in the land, should I try to fill them with something before painting?

Also, I want it to be non-slip paint, as want it safe for me as possible.

Also what colour options are there, to disguise the concrete cracks and oil stains.

I want to avoid a lot of physical scrubbing as not getting any younger!

Thanks very much for any help you can give, Jillie.

How to stop Rats??

Hi Everyone,

I've had problems with rats for quite a long time but now that I've started expanding my power tool collection I would like to protect them. Over the years I've tried a lot of thing with some things staying while others didn't work at all. I'll start with the ones that worked, obviously we started with basic rat traps, putting them almost everywhere (Including the house roof as they had started to migrate), I also removed all sources of food by putting the chicken, duck and dog food in metal barrels instead of plastic. This did slow them done but then they started going after our outdoor plants, I then did a bombing round of poison in the roof of the house as the dogs tend to wander the shed and didn't want them eating the pellets. That worked really well as we haven't had any in the roof since (Also for those who might be worried I know that my two dogs don't eat rats if they find or kill them{as they are sight hounds} so they wouldn't get poisoned).

Our issue then lied with the insulation in our shed, by this time they had tunnelled in it so the only reason they were staying was for the nice home. At the moment we are getting rid of the insulation and we are planning to replace it. My issue now is how stop them, from getting back in. The gaps they can squeeze are between the tops of the wall and the roof. I've done a lot of research and some people swear by steel wool, while others swear by different caulking. I just wanted to get some some opinions on these and maybe some new ideas.

Thank You in Advance,

MonkeyLearn MonkeyDo

Hi

I am trying to change the battery on the vt750 shadow and need to open up my front seat. The seat is screwed on with 6mm allen screws which are rusted and won't budge. I wanted to know if a more powerful drill might help and which brand to consider if it would

Shopping advice requested for a saw that can cut wood, metal sheets, and acrylic sheets

Hi all, I'm pretty excited to start DIYing but I'm clueless about the tools. I'd honestly like for someone to just load up a shopping cart for me and pass me the bill please!

My partner is after a circular saw for his timber, but I want to do other projects and none of them involve wood. My immediate project-to-do involves cutting acrylic sheets, but in the future I want to work on metal sheets too. I'd like to minimise single-use tools as well. I suggested a band saw, but my partner has no use for that, plus it'll take up more space than a saw, so we decided against it.

Is there a circular saw with changeable blades that we can both use for our projects? Between us we already have Ozito and DeWalt tools, so being able to share batteries and minimise chargers would be optimal, but a new brand is not a dealbreaker.

However though, I've read that typically, an off-the-shelf circular saw is by default for cutting timber, and that even if you had an interchangeable blade for metal-cutting, the saw itself may not be made for metal cutting due to different parts required for different purposes. For example saws for metal-cutting need a compartment for collecting metal chips, while a circular saw for timber has a dust collection bin. And on top of that there are many different types of blades, with different tips, some specify that they don't melt, etc etc. All rather overwhelming for an absolute beginner!

I've tried reading up on articles that teach you and tell you what you should be looking out for, but the subject is just not intuitive enough to me for me to apply to my shopping - particularly when I'm reading USA-oriented stuff but I'm in Australia, and I only have Bunnings' catalogue to look at (I don't know where else to go for these stuff). Knowing what I need and knowing where to look for them and being confident that I've picked the best tool are honestly 3 issues that are the worse hits to my excitement to start DIYing.

If someone would be so kind to just tell me "get product X for purpose A and product Y for purpose B and you're sorted", I would be so grateful please!

For many many years, I have been using plastic containers for small parts etc. After years of use these are now falling apart and spreading their contents all over the place.

I have been remodelling the shed/workshop lately and decided to change over to OCD containers.

The containers I chose were Tactix 405mm and 380mm Organisers.

Anyway, after cruising this site as well as other woodworking channels, for inspiration this is what I built.

The kick rails were an after thought using scrap timber. I will get around to painting them one day.

I am hoping to get some tips on which jigsaw i should get. I am a novice and just started out doing little projects. While I was looking for a jigsaw to purchase, I came across 2 Ozito Jigsaws. One is a Cordless Compact Jigsaw and the other just says an 18V Jigsaw. I took a look at the specifications and they are very similar other than the size.

What is the difference between the two?

Thanks.

Hello! Might anyone have any tips on sealing an old timber-framed Colorbond garage with concrete floor from filling with up with dust, leaves, spiders and mess? It has a rubber strip under the tilt door, expanding foam where the walls meet the roof, but it I just can’t keep the mess out. I’d really love to line it with plywood if I can seal it somehow. Thank you to anyone with advice

I am building a foldable outdoor table. I have the table top done and have wooded legs for them and know how to make them foldable by using a hinge, maybe. However, I am struggling to undertand how I can make the table stand without collapsing once opened. What can I put on the legs or the table to ensure it doesn't shake and fall if the tabled was rocked or shaken, accidentally?

Thanks for your help.

Hey everyone. Thought I'd post a pic of my ISO WIP. It's going to be a board game table. The flat screen insert is so I can use digital maps in conjunction with Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. Building with Bunnings stuff only. I'll try and keep the posts coming as the project moves forward.

Sunroom insulation

Hi,

Thanks for adding me to this exciting forum.

My question is regarding insulating my existing sunroom to convert it to all season room.

The problem is the room becomes very cold in winter and hot in summer. Also due to condensation there be mould formation on roof.

I live in south-west Sydney.

The sunroom is 7m(L)X3m(W) and is made from colourbond metal, with glass windows.

The problem is that the roof is not insulated, neither the side frames. The roof is a single metal sheet without any support.

The floor is same as wooden deck and there are gaps. Also its a raised room so makes it very cold/hot.

Please provide your feedback if its worth implementing following ideas so I can use this room as study & media room.

Roof insulation : Insulate the colorbond roof(please suggest material and if I can glue it to roof).Build a light weight metal frame, please suggest the material. The frame can be build by joining to the existing frame using rivet/glue(please suggest). Added a photos (existing roof, idea of frame). Also need to cover using lightweight material (please suggest). I am planning to install downlights in it.

Floor : Install vinyl boards on top of existing floor. Please suggest if that will work or I need under floor insulation ?

Side panels below windows : Glue insualtion to colorbond panel, drill wooden frame and gyprock on top of it.

Windows : Install roller blinds (please suggest for better insulation).

My plan is to install an aircon if needed in future.

Please provide a feedback if this is feasbile and worth. I dont want to spend too much on it a I plan to sale the house in 2-3 years.

Thanks in advance.

Attached photos. Please let me know if you need mre info.

Regards

Gary

Fixing car privacy cover plastic attachment

Hi All.

We have a privacy boot cover with a plastic attachment that has snapped off. Which is the best glue to reattach the plastic to the end of the privacy cover.

I have tried super glue and Glue Dots Advanced Strength sheets but it snaps again because it needs to withstand the tension.

Any recommendations?

Replacing this cover from Ford is about 250$. Prefer to avoid this cost.

Hi All

I'm in the process of building a 7ft x 7ft or 2134mm (Timber shed. Ive been able to source free timber and the build is at the frame stage (floor is 140 x 45 treated and frame is 70 x 30) I'll be cladding the exterior with 12mm birch ply with hard wood (Tassy Oak) sealers along the joins. It will have a Polycarbonate roof. The Deck and roof will be extended by approximately 900mm creating a deck and overhung

So my question is what would be a suitable stump to use? I have normal soil but a clay base a 3 - 4 ft down.

Many thanks for any advice given

Many thanks
