&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;No top coat is required when tiling over the boards. The basic steps for the recessed sides are to clean, base coat, embed tape, a thin layer of base coat to fill the recess, and then a wider base coat to cover the entire recessed area.       <title>Villaboard - does it need top coat as well as base coat?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I'm putting tiles on top of villaboard on the walls in my bathroom.
