It's D.I.Y. July and we are searching for Australia's best D.I.Y. projects of 2022. Winners will get the opportunity to get their work featured in the September issue of the Bunnings Magazine.

We'll thrilled to see so many high quality entries already. Please keep them coming in, and add your comments and likes to the entries on our competition gallery

To enter, just share your project here on Bunnings Workshop and make sure you select the D.I.Y. July entry label when you submit your post. If you need a hand with entering, please don't hesitate to ask

There are five categories in the competition:

  • Best bathroom or laundry makeover

  • Best kitchen makeover

  • Best paint project

  • Best small project

  • Best upcycling makeover.

Our judging panel includes Workshop's D.I.Y. expert Mitch Mclean, Dulux colour expert Andrea Lucena-Orr and Bunnings Magazine editor Katrina O'Brien.

Try to include as much information in your competition entries as possible, including before and after photos, tools and materials used, and the steps you took to complete the project.

The kitchen pictured above was a makeover by Chelsea and James from Western Australia, one of the 2021 competition winners which ended up featured on the cover of the Bunnings Magazine last year.

Apologies to our Kiwi friends that the competition is open to Australians only this year but we will certainly be looking to expand in 2023. Of course, our wonderful New Zealand community members are always welcome to share their projects with us anytime. We love your work!

Finally, many thanks to the supporters of the competition this year: Bunnings Magazine, Dulux, Scotch, Command and Openpay. We appreciate your support of the Workshop community and encouraging people to have a go at their own home improvement projects.

We look forward to seeing your projects soon. Don't forget that as per the competition terms and conditions, entries close at 11:50pm AEST on Saturday, 30 July 2022. Good luck!

Hi Jason ☺️

just made my first post and I couldn’t see a tag for the diy July but used best diy 2022 instead is that the right one? I couldn’t see my entry online and thought maybe I have made a mistake somewhere very new to navigating this page. Thankyou!

Hi Everyone!

I have just found my people hahaha

I'm a huge fan of Bunnings and an even bigger DIY'er.

I would love the opportunity to be part of your DIY July campaign or any other DIY campaigns you have.

I have just shared a DIY project we worked on recently for my parents, I hope I have added it correctly. We are also renovating our own house and trying to DIY as much as we can, I think we have another year of projects... maybe more 🤦🏼‍♀️ but we love what we do and we are so excited and glad to be connected!!!

Hi Jason! I just posted my first DIY July project (a house number planter box) and I can't see it on the entrants page. I can see it on the discussion board but unfortunately not with the other entrants? Did I use the wrong tag? Whoops!

I have another diy project for my mum to finish off so I'll leave this in your clearly capable hands and get back to it!!!

This is my first DIY JULY and I must say - I'm realllllly loving it!!!! Who would've thought I could make such incredible things with my own hands (and the right tools too, of course!!!!)

Cheers!

Hi @Jason! I've just posted my recent project - My Mamas herb garden 😀

But I posted it twice by accident - 1 with the DIY JULY tag and 1 without... 😣

so just 2 quick questions ...

1. Could you please check that this one is in the DIY JULY competition for me please Mama's French-inspired Herb Garden Plant... | Bunnings Workshop community

and

2. How do I delete a post? Because now I have two... but this one doesnt have the diy july entry tag checked so maybe delete that one? Mama's French-inspired Herb Garden Plant... | Bunnings Workshop community

I'm so so sorry!! I was so excited to post I got ahead of myself!

Thank you for your help (again!)
