Marble side table

This marble table is a fantastic beginner project with no tools required and will look great both indoors or outside.

The project

While I was creating this travertine side table, I came across a gorgeous marble paver at Bunnings.

I just had to buy one in hopes that I could find a use for it. I knew it would be the perfect table top so I set out to find some table legs and stumbled upon hairpin steel table legs.

I am all for easy D.I.Y. projects. This project required no measuring as the back of the paver has a grid of lines that makes it easy to get the legs even. I simply placed the paver upside down and used my trusty Selleys Hold Up Construction Adhesive to secure all four legs to the paver.

I then waited 24 hours for the glue to set before turning the table over to see the finished result.

Tools and materials

  • 1 Tuscan Path 600 x 600 x 20mm Marble Porcelain Paver

  • 4 Taskmaster 400 x 10mm Hairpin Steel Table Legs

  • Selleys Hold Up Construction Adhesive.

Total cost was approximately $85.

More table projects

Samantha repurposed round chopping boards and the terrazzo top from an outdoor table to create this side table. She covered the base with Tasmanian Oak half round dowels.

Workshop member lieselroberts joined two pots and spread a thick mixture of grout and paint to create this attractive hourglass side table.

Thank you MitchellMc for your reply.  I think that the instructions that @sammilne has given are so straightforward to follow, that there shouldn't be any problems for me.  Maybe patience might be needed, because I would be so tempted to turn the table over before the 24 hours!!  Something I have to learn!
