This old stool with potential now makes a lovely addition to the home with a replaced top and fresh paint.

The project

I found this small stool or utility table at an op shop for $10 and thought it would make a nice addition to our home. The frame was solid wood, but the top was made using MDF and had water damage.

I replaced the top with leftover Pine from a previous project and then painted the frame with Dulux White on White Gloss.

I fixed the wood onto the frame using Selleys Liquid Nails, sanded the surface with 80-grit and then 220-grit sandpaper, and applied three coats of varnish using Timber Protect Gloss One Coat Clear Water Based Varnish.

It turned out pretty good and we got to recycle as well.
