1. Training climbers to screen a fence by @royq

A wonderful idea to enliven any fence, this simple project uses Star Jasmine and cable to train the plant to cover the area. Many members have been inspired to replicate the project, sharing photos of their own fence makeovers.

2. Fence makeover by spray painting by @KingStreetReno

Spray painting the fence with the ever-popular Dulux Domino in this Victorian cottage’s courtyard made the space immediately much more appealing. It also makes the nearby plants look spectacular.

3. Garden bed front fence by @timjeffries

This brilliant project not only provides Tim the security of knowing his kids can’t easily run onto the road, but also provides space to grow food and build connections with neighbours.  “I think they’re functional, beautiful and build a bridge between our house and the street. They connect us with people who walk past around food which is something that unites us all.”

4. Fence rejuvenation by spray painting by @Jason

When you repair sections of an old fence, the new palings really stand out against those that have weathered over the years. This makeover utilised a Dulux RapidFinish spray gun to dramatically improve the fence and provide an attractive backdrop for new garden planting. Merbau decking boards were also used to increase the height of the fence to comply with pool fencing requirements.

6. Grape tin vertical herb garden by @kaylah_rose

Vertical gardens are a fantastic way to enliven an otherwise dreary fence. Workshop member Kay cleverly used vintage grape tins to grow herbs such as thyme, basil, mint, parsley, sage and oregano and make a quick and easy garden feature.

7. Raised garden beds fence feature by @John44

Workshop member John turned a fence into a wonderful backyard feature by incorporating raised garden beds into the design. He also considered seating to provide an even more welcoming environment for all to enjoy.

8. Fence makeover using Dulux RapidFinish paint spray gun by @Nikkaz

Utilising the easy-to-use Dulux RapidFinish spray gun to paint in Monument grey, Nikkaz transformed the fence and provided a dramatic backdrop for planting rows of lilly pilly in a subsequent garden makeover.
