How do you book workshops and garden club?

InStoreDIY.jpgBunnings customers can find and book workshops, garden club, kids D.I.Y. classes and family events at your local store via the Bunnings website

Just click on Stores at the top of the page, then Find a store, then click on the More details option when your chosen store has appeared.

This will take you to a page where you can see and book upcoming workshops. For example, here is the page for Artarmon.

Does Bunnings do beginner power tools workshops?

I am very interested in attending a beginners powertools/carpentry workshop/ course but the ones I find are very expensive. Does Bunnings host workshops? Do they recommend any?

Re: Does Bunnings do beginner power tools workshops?

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @WolfDIYDreaming. It's brilliant to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about power tool courses.

Hi there, and thanks so much for the great question. It is wonderful to hear you are keen to build your confidence with power tools, and I can assure you that many people in the community have started exactly where you are now.

Bunnings does not run dedicated beginner power-tool or carpentry courses in store. Our regular DIY workshops do occasionally feature specific tools, and depending on the project, you might get the chance to see them demonstrated up close or even have a quick go. These sessions are a great way to get familiar with tools in a low-pressure environment, but they are not structured training courses.

For more formal, hands-on learning, your best option is usually your local TAFE. Many TAFE campuses offer short introductory woodworking or carpentry units, and while full certificates take a big commitment, they sometimes have shorter “taster” courses that focus on the basics of using tools safely and effectively. These are often far more affordable than private workshops, and the training is delivered by qualified tradespeople. It is worth giving your nearest TAFE a call to ask what is currently available, because offerings can vary a lot from campus to campus.

If you simply want to build some confidence before taking on a bigger project, you might also like to start with small at-home tasks. Something simple like assembling flat-pack furniture, drilling pilot holes, or cutting a few practice lengths of pine with a circular saw can quickly build your skills. The Bunnings Workshop community is always here to help as well if you want guidance or reassurance before you try something new. I'd also recommend checking out the Bunnings Website DIY Advice section, as there are hundreds of fantastic projects to try, which will quickly teach you the basics.

If you have a particular project in mind or want tips on where to start, feel free to share it, and we will be happy to help.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
