Many thanks for the additional info Brad (@Ghostwriter). It makes this project even more remarkable, knowing you played a part in hand-crafting those blocks. Truly amazing stuff!   Mitchell

Another wonderful project @homeinmelbourne! As @JoeAzza mentioned, it's simply amazing to see this type of furniture be given a new lease on life. The effort you've gone to has really paid off as you've been left with a fantastic piece of furniture which I'm sure will serve you well for many years to come.    I love that you've kept it simple and gone with a fresh colour and coat of paint. It's a brilliant look.   Well done, and many thanks for sharing.   Mitchell

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @homeinmelbourne. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for sharing this wonderful project.   You've created a stunning entryway there, and I trust you're exceptionally proud of your efforts. I love the colour you've chosen for the door and great thinking about painting each side different. The wainscoting is impressive and adds that extra touch that makes this such a stunning project. That mirror is also gorgeous!   I look forward to your next project, and well done on an amazing effort. Mitchell
Excellent result. I  was impressed by the amount of planned detailed work you put in, including (very sensibly) doing the research first.  And now you get to enjoy using that corner, day or night.

HI Mitchell Thanks for your interest and compliments. The blocks are sawn out of a solid shelf of rock, so if you could imagine a sandstone floor (under a house) into which a grid of saw cuts is sawn into with a petrol saw. to a depth of about 200mm, then the blocks are busted out with a pry bar. What you end up with is a pretty ugly block, some break out with a decent face but 80% of them need to be shaped or at least dressed to look traditional, some take 20mins or so (probably 1000 blows) to give the hand hewn look . I used a fossickers hammer with a chisel shaped point to chip away so that there was no sawn edges visible. Yes it was very time consuming and not something I would have attempted without the luxury of time that Covid lockdown gifted us. Regards,,, Brad

Hello @KiranNagaraj,    A warm welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community! We're thrilled to have you here, and even more thrilled to see you've already shared a couple of your creative D.I.Y. projects. Great work. I also encourage you to check out other projects shared by our wonderful members and engage with them for more inspiring ideas and handy tips.  I'm loving this fireplace upgrade- the transformation adds a classy, nostalgic feel to your fireplace. Was changing the frame easy to do? We would appreciate if you could let us know a little more detail about your process.  Thanks, and welcome once again.  Akanksha

Hi @MikeOV,   Could you provide an image and dimensions of the Ikea panel you intend to use in combination with the Kaboodle 900mm over base cabinet? I'm not entirely clear on what panel you'd like to use. Typically a 900mm oven takes up the whole front of a 900mm oven base cabinet. There's no additional panel that is attached.   I'm keen to hear more about your project and assist.   Mitchell
Thank you @Kenpoinfo  for the quick reply, I'm sure it will inspire others to insulate their workshops/studios too, well done, great finish on the walls too.

Hi @kflynn89,   I'm a massive fan of the Specrite slatted and fence panels. They would make an excellent choice of material to use as they are rigid and quite good value. They would also complement the slatted screen behind the pump. With a couple of posts concreted into the ground at the front, you'd have something to build off, and you can use the wall as the rear mounting point.   Let me know what you think of the panels, and if you're happy with using those, I can come up with a method for constructing the walls and roof.   Mitchell

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @Ghostwriter. It's sensational to have you join us, and many thanks for sharing this amazing project.   Did you shape these blocks yourself from raw sandstone, or was the guy digging out the blocks? I'm already astounded by your craftmanship, but I can't even imagine the amount of work needed to shape those blocks.   I love the build's whole style and how you've created a structure to compliment your classic car. I'm also really impressed by the amount of work you've gone to here and trust you are very proud of the results.    Well done! Mitchell

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community @dinonim. It's wonderful to have you join us, and many thanks for your question about bathroom renovations.   I'd recommend you start a discussion on your project so our helpful members can provide some guidance. You might even find that there are some areas of the renovation that you could complete yourself. That discussion would be an excellent location to upload some images of your project.   Once you've created your plan and sorted out the details, you'll be able to employ the services of tradespeople to complete the work for you.   Whilst you're in the planning stage, check out our Top 10 most popular bathroom projects for inspiration. @homeinmelbourne Yet another example of a job very well done. I love how you have bought another level of character into this room.  I’m very impressed by your detailed ‘how to guide’ I understand it takes a lot of time. I am sure the workshop community will be very thankful when they are wanting to achieve the same look.  Again, best of luck with your entry!
Thank you Mitchell. This is all very helpful.

@AntonT,   Hybrid flooring is waterproof itself but doesn't remove the regulation of needing to have a waterproof membrane in a bathroom.   Typically a laundry is considered a wet area and requires floor drainage and waterproofing. Given the high chance of water leaks, not waterproofing would be a huge risk to take. It could also negatively affect your ability to sell the property, and inspections generally look for adequate waterproofing of wet areas.   For a WC which houses only a toilet, you should read through AS3740. It's my understanding that there is currently no provision to waterproof the toilet area if it is not inside a bathroom. Hopefully, @Vis-á-vis can clarify that for us.    Mitchell

@nicoleherrick Thank you firstly for taking part of DIY July and secondly, AMAZING! I’m a big fan of upcycling and you have tackled it in every aspect of your room. I love the side tables transformation and arm chairs. Your room is so inviting and spacious now.  I think your kitties make the best accessories! Thank you for also providing a video link, this is very useful for fellow members who are wanting to achieve a similar look.  All the very best for your entry and good luck.  Sandy
