Hi team,   First time poster here.   I have this small gap between the house’s gutter system and pergola. Rain has been pouring through the gap and I want to seal it off. I am looking for a quick and efficient way to seal it off.   The gap is about 50-100mm.   Option 1: install gutter for pergola and direct rain flow into house gutter.   Option 2: install a flashing of some sort, however I have not seen any flashing that is big enough for it. (Correct me if I am wrong)    Thank you for the help

Hi everyone, Wondering if there is anyone in the forum who has knowledge on gravity fed hot water systems that could please help? My flat is on the 2nd floor (top of the building) and every flat has their own gravity fed hot water system - they are located in the roof directly above my flat. The previous owner has renovated the flat and I’ve had numerous plumbers come out to see why the water pressure is so low in the shower. 4 or 5 visits later across 2 years, I have had a booster of some sort put in prior to me living here (a tenant was living here). Since I’ve moved in, the last plumber came out in February and advised that the cold water to the shower is being fed by the cold water tank that’s part of the gravity fed system, not via mains. He thinks this is the issue as all other taps (basin, kitchen, laundry and toilet) are connected to mains cold water and the gravity fed hot water. Is anyone able to please shed some light here with regards to the low pressure in the shower? Is it because the shower has been incorrectly connected to the cold water in the gravity fed system instead of the mains cold water connection? Hope someone can help explain so I can make a decision on what to do to fix it. Thank you! Marcia.

Hi, I recently lifted some old ceramic tiles from my front landing using the Ozito Rotary Hammer Drill with the chisel attachment, which worked a treat, but I'm now left with a concrete slab covered in old (original 50 y.o.) tile cement / adhesive. I'm assuming the same tool may be useful to remove it with a wider chisel attachment, but if there's a better way to remove the old adhesive I'd appreciate any suggestions. Many thanks. Rod.

Hello and thanks in advance this is a bracket which attaches the door to a pull out pantry unit. There are three brackets in total and this is the top one. The top and middle ones sit on top of a bar of the pull out unit so the door cannot fall any further so it does take quite a bit of strain. I removed the door (without any difficulty) as the bottom runner was stuck etc. the runner is working again thanks to silicon spray but when I went to screw the bracket back in, the hole to receive this one screw seems to be damaged (it’s quite sharp sticking out) and the screw will not engage. is there something I can do to help/make it engage? I could file the sharp edge down for example? The damaged hole is to the left. I don’t k ow what the fold out bit is for I guess the other option is to swap the lower bracket up to where this one is because the lower bracket doesn’t take the starting/weight as much but that would be quite complicated to do

Hi, I am a new member to this forum and I have a project that I am working on which i hoping to get some advise on.   I had to take down previous lean-to as it was falling apart and getting dangerous. I am planning to replace it with a timber structure essentially made up of 190x45mm MGP 10, H3 rafters and beams with corrugated sheets on top.   I am trying to decide how to best fix the ledger board to the existing shed (190x45mm board). The existing shed have a corrugated sheeted high wall with hardwood timber trusses behind. I have attached a couple of picture outside and inside for reference.   As the replacement lean-to is 4x6m (actually smaller than the old one), I don't think putting timber connectors through the ledger board and into the trusses will be enough. One alternative solution I was considering, additional to timber connectors into truss, was to put a "double ledger board" meaning one ledger board on the outside for the rafters to hang on and one board on the inside of the shed with galvanised bolts through both boards clamping them over the trusses and creating enough structural strength.    Appreciate any suggestions with this. Pictures show existing shed with slab for lean-to as well inside pic of the trusses behind the front wall.   Thanx, Matz

Hi team, Can you tell me the best way to put a stop to the sound of water dripping down my downpipe and hitting the elbow.  It's right outside my bedroom window and once the rain stops it can drip for ages. Slightly annoying when you are trying to sleep!  I've read things like gluing a piece of sponge inside the elbow.  Is this what you would recommend?

We are looking to convert the downstairs garage and utility space into a habitable room (bedroom, living, etc). The house is a late 1970s two-storey brick house in Queensland. The downstairs area has double brick walls and an original concrete slab. Seeking advice on any DYI solutions to waterproof the double brick walls or make the concrete slab suitable for a habitable room.   Also interested in hearing from anyone who has undertaken a similar project. Thank you.

Hi, we have a defective ceramic basin dropped from the stone benchtop wihtin the drawer. The building is just 2.5 years old. Could we re-glue ourselves, if so, what type of glue or silicon do we need to purchase? Do we need the kind of car jack stand things to make the basin in correct position until glue works? Or if we'd better ask a professional trade person, would he/ she be a stone maison or a plumber?? Please advise. The right hand side is dropping and I located the bottle underneath to prevent more damages.

Hello I really want to paint this small external tiled areas at my back sliding door and front door. It always looks dirty and very hard to clean. I'd like to paint it a earthy darker colour - like a grey shade that won't show the dirt so much and hopefully make it easier to clean. I understand the texture is to prevent slipping, I'm hoping this can still be achieved with a finish that is easily wiped clean. 🤍

I have had this question for a number of years but after the last few weeks of constant rain its popped into my head again. Has anyone retrofitted Sarking to the underside of their roofs? Is it possible? and is it worth an attempt?   I have no sarking There is left over insulation from someone before. The tiles seem to be watertight except for the stay wires coming through the tile and beams. Water seems to get blown up under the tiles or backed up from leaf matter outside to gain entry into roof cavity.   This was from 2021, pretty much the same as this weekend. Ihave a bucket with a towl across it to stop the splash and so far no actuall puddle ammount has come through but the towl is soaked. I was thinking of attaching sarking with a bit of a dip between the trusses, mainly to stop these drips. My concern is will anywind/breeze will want to flutter it around? I may try to retrofit above the bathroom and kitchen areas first and see if iuts stands up to the wind. From 2022 and still the same (The light well is corflute of skylight installed before my time. Dodgy bro inc id say.) From 2022 and still the same. The plaster has a silver reflective to the top of it for the whole house. I do not know if its conductive lol Yeah I turn the power off to the house when I go up there just in case. From 2022 and still the same tho that hole has been fixed towards the left.   The plaster in the ceiling of the bathroom has paint issues from the condensation of water as the room is in the middle of the house. The "join" is where the watar drips through. Both of these are on the list to be fixed but first would be stopping leaks.   Dave

Hello there!   I have just moved into my first home and there are a few things to be fixed up in the bathroom. Would really appreciate it if someone could advise me on what to do as I am not very handy.   The shower tap is coming off the wall - how should I attach this back on? Is there a concern about water accumulating in the wall due to the hole?   shower tap not attached to wall The soap dish twists round and round - should I put some sort of adhesive to secure it? soap dish twists round and round and round... Lastly, there are a couple of pitted tiles (is that the right word for it?). Should I seal them up with epoxy or something? pitted tile another pitted tile Any advice will be much appreciated! I feel like these might be really basic issues but I don't have family near me to help, so I'm turning to the Bunnings community

I've just had a new washing machine connected and found that it leaks from where it is connected to the tap, if the tap is turned on (see attached picture), whether the washing machine is in operation or not.   I was wondering where I should begin with fixing this - should I contact the appliance seller to send someone to help me re-connect the washing machine, or would it be relatively cheap and easy to fix it myself?

Finished Project! I've always wanted to do a Van to Campervan conversion and when my son rang me up and said " Dad, you can say no if you want, but I've just bought myself a van and l was wondering if you'd like to have a crack at converting it into a camper? I think he knew l’d jump at the suggestion and boom….5 solid weeks later a Camper Van was born!   He bought himself a 2015 Hyundai iLoad for $15,000 with nothing but bare bones so we had to start from scratch!   The Brief was scant, but precise: It had to have room for him to sleep and sit comfortably. There needed to be a safe spot to securely store a surfboard or two overnight, and three, There's not a lot of coin to do all this so the budgets tight....and l do mean tight....nothing to fancy! Living in rural NSW meant that l didn't have a lot of options regarding sourcing materials for converting a van but luckily we do have a Bunnings so they saved the day  Basically everything for the van was purchased from there except for electrical components and sound proofing.   Oh yeah, there was one more thing....it had to be finished in under five weeks as l was going into hospital for major foot surgery which was going to render me pretty useless for the unforeseen future. Just stick it to some MDF for a luxurious finish.       The VJ was a little difficult to install due to the uneven and curved face of the wall and door panels. A little force was required to secure in place and just make sure that you screw to a panel that is not the outside skin of the van....check twice, screw once. The Black Button Head Screws are nice accent against the white MDF.       The White Plywood legs are cut out of the one piece of material...no joints.       I'm 6'2" and can sleep comfortably with legs outstretched.       Handy pull out kitchen with open storage underneath.       The 30 litre fridge is a great option and keeps those beers just at the right temperature.....delicious.       If you don't surf, you could use this space for extra storage.       Three styles of charging ports.  1: two USB Ports 2: One USB Port and one USB-C Port 3: One cigarette style Charging Port.       The wall mounted fan is a necessity for a comfortable van life.       The LED Strips are a simple way to create a stunning look.       The vinyl plank flooring looks great and is simple to install.       The Pull Out Bed / Sofa is a very effective way to kill two birds with the one stone. If you're interested in making one for yourself you can find the Plans here: https://etsy.me/3WR3w43       The Open Storage is a great place to store your devices, clothing, books etc       I love the overall look of the conversion and combine that with truck loads of storage, you have yourself a very neat little package.         Gotta love a little greenery Step 2 Couple of snaps of the job in progress!     This is Jack, my 26 year old son who's van it is.       Floor battens glued down to the floor pan with insulation glued in between the battens.       Detailed Plans       Holding up the ceiling battens till the glue dried.       Timber slats nailed to a 3mm sheet of MDF that l painted black for accent.       Sound deadening material was applied to the areas of the van that sounded "tinny" These tinny areas were on the wall and ceiling panels and also the wheel arches where road noise is transferred.       Insulating your van is an important step as they can get really hot in the summer and very cold in the winter.       The Bed Box is an integral part of the build as everything else is built around it.       Running the cabling for the lights, switches, fan, charging ports etc.       The plywood floor was installed in two pieces. There are so many ins and outs with a van that it would be very difficult to do it out of one sheet.       I'm a massive fan of the 17mm Formply. It looks awesome and is generally straight and flat.       The cabling was a little tricky to run back to the battery but we got there in the end.       The pull out kitchen works well as a place to use and store your gas cooker.       The engine room for all the electrics is located under the bed.       A 100AH Lithium battery runs all the electrics which is charged from the vans battery as well as the solar panel on the roof.       The backrest is a game changer for the pull out bed. You can actually sit in the van comfortably without your head hitting the ceiling!       Having the fridge and electrical compartment accessible via the side door is very convenient.       Hear duty drawer slides work an absolute treat with the drawer. Having the drawer lockable prevents it from coming out when driving.      Step 3   If you're interested here is the video where l reveal the van to my son. It's Part 3 of a 3 Part, Van to Campervan Conversion Series. Hope you like it     Part 1 and Part 2 document the building phase and can be found here.

hello, approximately one month ago a couple of the plants in my Lilly Lilly pilly hedge started having there leaves drop off from mostly the external and highest leaves.  I suspected a caterpillar attack as this has happened before and sprayed the products with success ultra.  The leaves have continued to drop since and seemingly even more plants appear afflicted, almost all of the plants (aside from the very healthy deep green ones) leaves are covered in red dots. What is also odd is that there is new growth emerging despite the plants seemingly unhealthy state. The tips of plants seem to be browning and dropping leaves which spreads from the tip towards the trunk but new shoots sometimes emerge elsewhere. I can’t seem to find anything similar to this problem on the internet, the plants are the goodbye neighbours acmena smiithi variety. I have attached some pictures for reference. Any help would be much appreciated
