Hello, community members
I just found a lot of insects on pictures below on my lawn, are they pest or just normal insects in this season? I didn’t notice if they were being here last year. Do I need to do lawn pest control? Btw, I have a dog who always plays on the lawn.
Thank you so much.

Hello @cc1002
Those insects in your garden are known as the Plague Soldier Beetles. I suggest having a quick look at this discussion - What are these insects and how to kill them? by @amirrafique.
The Plague Soldier Beetle form large swarms in gardens during the mating season, however they disperse quickly once this is over. They appear during spring, summer and autumn. They are beneficial insects as they help spread pollen.
If you need further assistance, please let us know.

Hi Ericl,
Thank you, I’ve decided to leave them until they disperse.

Important to remember that not all insects are bad and that even if they are bad, are they really bad? If they're not going to really negatively impact your plants - you many not need to treat them. Just a thought.
