Re: garden makeover

Hi @RN1

Welcome to the Bunnings Workshop community. It's wonderful to have you join us, and thank you for sharing your question about your garden makeover.

Using pebbles is a great way to create a garden border. I often suggest using pebbles that are easy to manage, not too small or too big. Pebbles that don't harm the plants in the garden. A good example would be Tuscan Path 10kg 10 - 20mm Smooth Cream Pebbles. Not too bright that it catches too much attention and not too big that it overwhelms the garden. Do you want them as a border or do you want them to cover the planted area?

Would it be possible for you to post a picture of the garden area and where you propose to place the pebble border? This will give our members a better idea of how things are laid out. We can then offer you recommendations on how to lay your border.

The most common method of laying a pebble border is to dig a rectangular channel. The common width is about 120mm to150mm and a suggested depth of 30mm is good enough to hold the pebbles in. A covering of weedmat prevents weeds from growing in between the pebbles and prevents them from mixing in with the soil. I suggest using Whites Weed Mat Pins - 20 Pack to keep the weedmat in place.

It sounds like a great garden project, we look forward to seeing the photos.

Eric
